The Weight Loss Journey
For some patients, bariatric surgery can be part of their weight loss journey. Bariatric surgery facilitates massive weight loss and can lead to reduction in joint and back pain, blood pressure issues, diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea. While this weight loss can help people get chronic health issues under control and can lead to improved mobility and self-esteem, many patients note a new issue of excess skin on the abdomen, arms, breasts, thighs and neck. This skin can lead to chafing, discomfort and aesthetic concerns.
What is Post Bariatric Body Contouring?
Post bariatric body contouring is a large part of Dr. Romy's practice. As each patient is different, Dr. Romy individualizes the post-bariatric body contouring procedures he performs for patients. Keep in mind, these procedures are often planned serially rather than all at once, to keep the overall surgical time safe and minimize the risk of complications.
Common Procedures Include:
- arm lift
- face / neck lift
- mons pubis reduction
- mastopexy / breast lift
- panniculectomy / cosmetic tummy tuck
- thigh lift
- liposuction for residual stubborn fat deposits
Is Post Bariatric Body Contouring Right for Me?

- have a stabilized weight x 3-6 months
